From Fragmentation to Automation: How OpenFin Workspace Has Catalyzed Digital Transformation for the Desktop
From Fragmentation to Automation: How OpenFin Workspace Has Catalyzed Digital Transformation for the Desktop
TradingTech Insight USA 2023 Awards: OpenFin Wins Best Solution for Workflow Automation
As the leading provider of desktop interoperability and the founder of FDC3, OpenFin has enabled seamless workflows for more than 3,800 banks and buy-side firms since our founding in 2010. Our de facto operating system (OS) was built to fuel enterprise productivity across the financial desktop, establishing needed frameworks that enable disparate applications to share context in a safe, permissioned manner. In our work to move end users from scattered apps toward integrated environments, we work tirelessly to create a truly unified desktop experience.
We first introduced OpenFin Container, our web developer platform, to make it easier to build enterprise-grade web apps in a way that was compliant with web standards and kept up with the latest enterprise security updates. With Container, all market players, from banks and brokers to asset managers and hedge funds, are empowered to build secure, high-performance desktop apps using web technologies and to make those apps behave and interoperate in ways not possible inside a traditional web browser.
Workspace: A New Way Forward
OpenFin kicked off a new era in 2021 with the launch of our flagship Workspace product—a singular, elegantly designed user interface built on OpenFin Container and designed in collaboration with our clients. This growth also symbolized a broader evolution for OpenFin, as we expanded from delivering industry-leading developer experiences through Container to also providing a front-end user experience designed to enhance productivity.
The benefits of Workspace go beyond unifying disparate applications and automating workflows by eliminating tedious toggling. It also gives clients access to a range of signature components, including a browser built for work, an actionable notification center, a universal search interface and a customizable content store, among other dynamic features. What’s more, the interface enables clients to save and restore layouts to manage increasingly scarce desktop real estate. We continue to make enhancements to Workspace to ensure it remains at the forefront of workplace innovation. Our suite of out-of-the-box integrations includes partners like Salesforce, Microsoft 365 and Teams, Amazon Connect and ServiceNow. Workspace also gives end users the flexibility to integrate their own in-house applications and data sources, delivering the ultimate end-user experience.
Frontiers Beyond Finance
Workspace has come to be relied upon by some of the most complex trading environments and financial institutions in the world, empowering capital markets players to maximize their efficiency in their day-to-day workflows. 23 of the top 25 global banks, as well as many of the world’s leading asset managers and financial services vendors, have adopted our offering as their core enterprise framework.
Now, with our proven track record in financial services, OpenFin is working to expand our offerings beyond finance. In late 2022, we announced our collaboration with In-Q-Tel, our first instance of bringing Workspace to the government intelligence and defense services sector. Most recently, Workspace has been made available for contact centers, unifying applications within their hectic workflows and empowering agents to provide better customer experiences. This expanded use of Workspace across industries has validated what we have always known: that our OS is applicable to any enterprise use case.
Leaders in Workflow Automation
Our journey thus far has helped us to win recognition that reflects our significant and ongoing investment in powering frictionless workflows. We are thrilled to announce that Workspace has been named “Best Solution for Workflow Automation” by TradingTech Insight Awards USA, which recognizes excellence in trading solutions for capital markets.
This accolade comes on the heels of several other exciting announcements: our $35 million Series D funding round led by Bank of America, our integration with LSEG’s flagship Workspace platform and, most recently, our partnership with Blue Triangle, which will connect the performance of third-party and internal apps to the employee and customer experience. These milestones serve as a further testament that the industry shares our vision and commitment to improving enterprise productivity.
As we track toward becoming the universal standard for powering next-gen applications, industry award wins like this one serve as a reminder of just how far we’ve come in our journey. We’ve built a platform designed for efficient work that enables desktop openness. We’ve improved the security, interoperability, scale and governance of the ecosystem we’ve worked tirelessly to build. We’ve tackled the “toggle tax” and other hurdles to workplace productivity. Ultimately, we’ve had a hand in shaping the very future of digital transformation—and there is nothing more gratifying than seeing these efforts be recognized.
Stay tuned for more announcements on how OpenFin Workspace is changing the game for enterprise productivity and the modern desktop experience.
